It is one that has been built on and expanded year on year by the local community and business sectors in Tubbercurry and Sligo and is now a mainstay on the annual cultural and artistic festival calendar for Sligo and the North West.

The festival was honoured to be chosen as Best Cultural Festival and Overall Best Tourism award at the Sligo Business Awards in 2017. It has also featured as one of the Canada's Flight Network top 14th Global Festivals to visit in 2017.

The highlights of this year’s festival included “Our 3rd annual Teddy Bear Picnic in the forest walk. This is followed by a first for Tubbercurry, an outdoor cinema on Saturday evening showing Bohemian Rhapsody.

Sunday, was the Family Fun Day with marquees full of free entertainment from face painting, heritage games, arts, crafts, competitions to a pottery workshop. In addition to various games, bouncy castles, our annual tractor pull and fancy-dress. And a display by Street Bike Freestyle Rider Mattie Griffin on his BMW Motorcycles.

Monday and Tuesday was family fun time, with a choice of a 5k Road Race organised by South Sligo Athletic Club. Wednesday, was our showcase the Old Fair Day, where people got the chance to experience the sights and sounds of fair days gone in our arts, crafts and heritage village, artisan food and bread displays, expositions and children’s fun zones. We had over 50+ heritage and craft exhibitors and demonstrators.

We are delighted to welcome the return of the Sligo Volunteer Centre who will host an exhibition, displays from community groups and talks entitled “volunteer voices” in the hall. As always thanks to the local farmers who bring their prize-winning cattle, sheep, pigs and various other animals for our visitors to view.

This year we were also delighted to partner with the SARURE project. A fun filled festival awaits you in Tubbercurry during the day and nightly enjoy Murray’s funfair and live music in the local pubs”. We are proud to present our fair as a festival where old and new friends alike can meet and savour the hospitality our town offers.
