SET-UP partners are organizing a Smart Energy Conference in Brussels on the 20th of March to conclude the Phase 1 of the project and share their results with other European regions and institutions.

During this 3-year phase, partners have identified good practices and explored innovative approaches to tackle the main social, economic and financial challenges to smart grid deployment. Thanks to interregional exchange, partners have developed regional Action plans that represent a concrete roadmap for the use of further and better funding towards integrated smart grid strategies.

Now that the interregional learning process comes to the end, it’s time to share project conclusions and present the regional Action Plans that will be implemented during Phase 2.  The conference will be the occasion to present the project and its approach to smart grids, but also to networking with major European smart grid players and trigger new collaborations.

In the morning session, partners will share the results and lessons learnt from the cooperation, with a focus on successful projects, policies and tools with a potential for transfer and future actions to put in place for improving their regional policies.

In the afternoon session, participants will be invited to discuss and exchange views on the future of smart grids in the regional policies and strategies beyond 2020. Representatives of the European Commission have been invited to provide an overview of the future European energy policy framework, with a focus on the interregional initiatives linked to the S3.
