Launched in 2006 by the European Commission, the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) is a major European-level event dedicated to energy efficiency and renewables.
Bringing together public authorities, private companies, NGOs and consumers, it is an ideal platform for sharing knowledge and experiences, discovering innovative policies and projects, and building alliances for future collaborations. Major representatives of the European institutions, such as the Vice President of the European Parliament, will be present.
Bretagne Développement Innovation and the Regional Council of Brittany will attend the event and participate as speakers in the session “Smart specialisation in Energy, driving societal challenges” on 21st June.
They will use the example of the Brittany region to discuss how the European Union supports the implementation of a smart regional energy strategy. In this context, SET-UP will be presented as a strategic project for Brittany, supporting the development of an effective regional energy policy thanks to interregional cooperation. Emphasis will be put also on the interaction between the SET-UP project and other interregional programmes and initiatives the Bretagne Region is currently involved in, including the Interreg FCE project ICE and the Ocean Eranet project.
