On Monday the 6th of June 2022 was held a local stakeholder meeting of SHREC which was organized by Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency in Bratislava, Slovakia. 17 stakeholders attended the meeting.

SIEA had succeeded to gather several meaningful experts from the energy sector such as representatives of the Association of Energy Service Providers, the Slovak Association of Heat Producers, the Association for Better Management of Apartment Buildings, etc. to discuss the common topics for the project SHREC and another international project GreenDeal4Buildings. Both projects are dealing with conditions how to set up Energy Communities and Positive Energy Districts in Slovakia.

The main thematic area of the discussion was the development of smart energy services and energy communities. The participants discussed important measures that are key to the development of the smart energy services sector in Slovakia.

The most frequent request was to take care of their complexity when creating measures, financial mechanisms, tools and models for buildings. Experience shows that partial solutions implemented in buildings are insufficient. The fragmentation of measures and support mechanisms causes a large personnel and bureaucratic burden for building owners and managers, which significantly reduces or even makes the implementation of complex measures in buildings impossible.

The other very important discussion with the energy experts was about the development and promotion of active consumers, so-called prosumers, and energy communities. The international project SHREC focuses precisely on these topics. All participants of the event agreed that it will be important to gradually bring together entities that can help to develop energy communities, the result of which would be the creation of the so-called prosumer platform.
