Did you know that approximatively 70% of the EU’s older adults agree that developing products and services responding to their needs will become a key driver of the economy? This is why we want to look at interconnections between SMEs in the silver economy and local authorities in rural areas!

We are celebrating SILVER SMEs’ first birthday with the publication of our third newsletter. During the last 6 months, project partners collected good practices across Europe. From housing to well-being and ICT, these initiatives can help in understand how public policies can support SMEs in the silver economy to develop their services in rural and mountainous areas.

Alongside our third partners’ meeting, an international conference was also organized in Tolmin, Slovenia, in May 2019, to capture business opportunities arising from Active Ageing. The conference was an opportunity to learn about challenges in the silver economy in Slovenia and to discover more initiatives thanks to the inputs of local stakeholders. Slovenian policy-makers also presented their views on the future development of the sector in the country.

Read here the entire newsletter for more information on the project’s activities and to find out where are the next events on Silver Economy!
