Today SmartPilots Lead Partner, the Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant (BBEPP) hosted a group of Flemish STEM teachers. STEM is an abbreviation for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. STEM is a major students in Flanders can choose in secondary school (12-18 years old).

The STEM teachers learned about shared pilot facilities and how education can better prepare students for professional carreers in such facilities. Several BBEPP staff members with different job profiles (operators, junior engineers, senior engineers...) explained what their job is about and how their specific educational path did or did not prepare them for this job. An interesting reality check for most participants, resulting in a very open, inspiring and interactive encounter.
