The EWWR 2021 is approaching!

It is already its 13th edition, have you heard about it?

EWWR stands for European Week for Waste Reduction, the biggest awareness-raising campaign on waste prevention in Europe. Every year, it involves thousands of people among public authorities, citizens, schools, businesses, NGOs, associations, who organise activities to raise awareness about waste reduction.

This year the EWWR will take place from 20 to 28 November and will focus on the topic of Circular Communities. The aim is to raise the attention on the role played by local communities in the transition towards a circular economy and inspire actions based on the collaboration among people, with a special attention on the impact that local communities can have on this new phase of Covid-recovery.

To take part in the EWWR, you simply have to organise an action on at least one of the following: Strict avoidance and reduction at source; Reuse an preparing for reuse; Waste sorting and recycling; Clean-up action; Thematic focus: circular communities. It is important that this activity happens during the days of the EWWR (between 20-28 November 2021) and that you register it online.

To get inspired, the EWWR website is full of tips and ideas. There are even factsheets dedicated to this year's thematic focus.
