The project SMEPlus "Improving policy instruments to increase the energy efficiency in industrial SMEs" will improve policies aimed at SMEs in the field of energy efficiency. The first stakeholder meeting in Spain, organised by Economic Development Agency of La Rioja as a partner in the project, introduced the project to the regional stakeholders who will collaborate in the project: Regional Directorate for Energetic Transition and Climate Change, Business Federation of La Rioja, Chamber of Commerce of La Rioja, Professional Association of Electric and Renewable Energy Installators and National Association of Producers of Photovoltaic Energy.

The meeting took place on 20 February 2020 in Logroño, Spain. The participants discussed Energy Policy in La Rioja and Regional grants to promote energy efficiency in SMEs, as well as aims and activities in the SMEPlus project.

Spain is represented in the project by the Government of La Rioja, Economic Development Agency of La Rioja as well as the Directorate General for Energy Transition and Climate Change. The project is supported by the Interreg Europe programme and coordinated by the University of Gävle in Sweden. Partners from other European regions in Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and Romania take part.
