European Social Economy Summit
Co-organised by the European Commission and the city of Mannheim (Germany), the European Social Economy Summit (ESES) will take place on November 26th and 27th. After the great success the former edition was (it gathered more than 2000 people in Strasbourg, France) in 2014, this year’s one is expected to attract more than 1500 people, among stakeholders, academics, attendants or public representatives in order to share good practices or establishing networks for future relationships.
With the aim of enhancing visibility for this economic sector, the event pursues other relevant goals as the economic development, social inclusion or ecological and digital transitions. Three specific topics will be addressed during the two days: 1. Cross-country and cross-sectoral collaboration. 2. Innovation. 3. Digitalisation.
The application period for sessions proposals will be open until March 27th. All sessions should illustrate how social economy can best contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and how social economy can help implement the political priorities of the new Commission over the next five years. Especially after the “European Action Plan for Social Economy”, recently announced by the European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
