On the 24th of November at Co-Start Villa Garagnani in Zola Predosa Bologna, took place the third module of the cycle “Crowdfunding: resources, community, innovation”, a series of 3 free meetings organized by the Crowdfunding Hub of the Metropolitan City of Bologna and Co-Start Villa Garagnani. These trainings aim to deepen the most innovative and debated financial instrument (and not only) of recent years, with a look at emerging topics such as energy and social impact. The cycle is funded by the Start Easy project, and is the implementation of Action 2 of the Action Plan of the Metropolitan City of Bologna. This cycle started in Phase 2 of the project with the aim of organizing trainings on the importance of crowdfunding and in general in creating the best conditions for the start-ups growth and new business initiatives and providing tools that can create an environment conducive to the quick and easy start-up of new businesses.
The two previous conferences had a positive response by the public, the first: "Crowdfunding: know it to use it better" was organized in presence on the 29th June, the second: "Change energy and mitigate climate: Energy crowdfunding and alternative finance" was organized online on the 19th July 2022. The themes were different in each of the 3 meetings, and the final was on a specific matter of crowdfunding: "Corporate Crowdfunding: between tax advantages and Corporate Social Responsibility ". The speakers were from different backgrounds, and this was important because the thematic was analyzed from different perspectives.
The main topics that emerged were linked to explaining equity Crowdfunding, which is not yet spread in Italy, the diversification of investments, tax advantages and market validation. This sector is rapidly growing and offers many opportunities for corporations and investors. Also the importance of impact investing, and specifically investment choices with social and environmental impact. This was a very interesting topic because it represents the new frontier on sustainable finance for investors and companies attentive to their social and environmental impact.
After the conference, innovators and local talents attending had the chance to present themselves during a moment dedicated to a networking aperitif, during which for companies and startups were able to meet and discuss, enriched by temporary exhibitions and performances by young artists exposed in Villa Garagnani.
