In Poland, the act on the Succession Management of a natural person, entered into force on November 25, 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1629).

STOB Regions' Polish Partner Malopolska Region has published an annotation and practical guide of the recently implemented act regarding Succession Management in Poland.

Prior to the introduction of this act, the death of an entrepreneur causes the automatic termination of his enterprise and data such as tax number, licenses and concessions which are granted to a specific person.

The new regulation will introduce the possibility for entrepreneurs to set up the so-called succession manager who will be able to deal with running a business after the entrepreneur's death and prepare the business to be inherited by the heirs of such entrepreneur.
