Tipperary County Council, as part of their involvement in the Interreg Europe Project ‘SUPER’, hosted a meeting and workshop in Horse & Jockey, Co. Tipperary, on the 26th and 27th June 2018 attended by project partners from organisations in Denmark, The Netherlands, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Greece and Spain.

The objective of the ‘SUPER’ Project is to develop, improve and adapt local/regional policies that support methods for increased international commercialisation of environmentally sustainable innovations and environmentally friendly products of Small and Medium Enterprises. Better support mechanisms that help mature the region’s businesses will in turn lead to improved conditions for export of environmentally friendly products within and outside of the EU and in turn lead to increased competitiveness.

The ultimate goal is to assist environmentally friendly companies to be more successful and successful companies to be more environmentally friendly through improved policy-making and implementation and better support systems at the local/regional level.

During their visit to Tipperary, participants engaged in study visits to Premier Green Energy in Thurles and the new bio-economy development at Lisheen Mine, Thurles, www.agrichemwhey.com and www.bioeconomyfoundation.com.
