From 19th to 22nd September the conference "Monitoring and Management of Visitors in Recreational and Protected Areas" (MMV) took place in Jurmala. The conference was organized by Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences in cooperation with the Latvian Congress Bureau.

Ilze Grīnfelde, Project expert from Vidzeme Planning Region, participated in this event, and presented the results of SWARE project. In the report, the expert highlighted local good practices as a response to the negative impact of the COVID 19 pandemic on natural heritage in Vidzeme. After the presentation the conference participants were active in discussion especially about the importance of local good practices, the sharing of these experiences, as well as the possibilities of adapting them and the introduction of similar activities elsewhere. Topics heard at the conference aroused interest about the database of good practices of the Interreg programme among participants. The MMV Conference is a biennial event that brings together researchers, conservationists, policymakers, representatives of international organizations and tourism professionals from around the world.
