Public consultation meetings are a regulatory tool that is used to increase the levels of transparency, efficiency and effectiveness of decision and policy making.
Public consultation meetings and their components are a perfect opportunity for knowledge exchange and provide a platform to the public to express their views. If knowledge exchange develops smoothly during public consultation meetings, then it has the potential to improve the quality of previously conducted field or desk research with regards a specific challenge for which new policy measures are being developed.
In this 1st meeting, we will focus on unresolved issues of industrial symbiosis and circular economy development, the solution of which requires broad consensus, such as setting waste targets and regulating secondary raw resources markets.
The overarching themes of SYMBI’s public consultation meetings will be the topics of SYMBI A1 activities.
Theme 1: Existing policies on industrial symbiosis and circular economy
Theme 2: Investment potential in industrial symbiosis
Theme 3: Good practices on ecosystems of by-product and energy exchanges
Theme 4: Green public procurement as an enabler for industrial symbiosis
