Thematic workshop on Energy Efficiency in Buildings for approved Interreg Europe projects
The Interreg Europe Policy Learning Platform will host a Thematic Workshop on Energy Efficiency in Buildings on 28 June in Florence.
Join us at this interactive and participatory workshop to meet other Interreg Europe project partners, discuss project complementarities, share good practices, define future common activities for advancing your regional energy efficiency approaches, and learn about European initiatives that can support your regional activities.
Additionally, you will hear about the latest developments and initiatives in energy efficiency at the European level, and shape the future activities of the Policy Learning Platform.
Buildings represent 40% of energy consumption in the EU, and improving their performance is a key challenge for regional policy-makers. The challenge has been given additional impetus by the recast of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), which will require member states to develop long-term strategies to support renovation of public and private buildings to be nearly zero energy buildings in 2050, with milestones for 2030 and 2040.
Improving energy efficiency involves a combination of technologies, market mechanisms, policies and behavioural change, requiring co-operation and co-ordination between governments, businesses, and publics. Getting the right support policies in place for all of these factors is essential for success.
But regions across Europe have already worked to find the right policies, and solutions exist that can inform your regional approaches.
Two participants per project are invited, from the project partners most relevant to the topic addressed. Managing Authorities are strongly encouraged to join. Please note that this event is by invitation only.
If you would like to include more than two partners, please let us know and we will contact you if there are spaces remaining.
Associated travel and accommodation costs are eligible under the project budget.
