The European Week of Regions and Cities (#EURegionsWeek) is the biggest annual Brussels-based event dedicated to regional policy.

The event has grown to become a networking platform for capacity-building and the exchange of experience and good practices for those implementing EU cohesion policy. In 2019, the EURegionsWeek reached a record high of more than 9,000 participants and more than 330 sessions.

Regions and cities from all over Europe have the opportunity to discuss common challenges, to exchange ideas on possible solutions by bringing together political representatives, decision-makers, experts as well as others, under this year's motto “Restart. Europe. Together”,

However, this year's event will be special. Due to the security measures and health situation caused by the pandemic, this year will be the first ever fully digital EURegionsWeek. The EURegionsWeek 2020 will offer participants more than 500 digital working sessions to discover over three consecutive weeks in October, from 5-22 October, covering various topics along the 3 thematic priorities:

◾5-9 October: Empowering Citizens

◾12-16 October: Cohesion and cooperation (celebrating 30 years of Interreg in particular)

◾19-22 October: Green Europe (in cooperation with the Green Week)

Main sessions of the EURegionsWeek (Opening and Closing sessions, Citizens’ dialogue and high-level debates) will be streamed and broadcasted live.

The proposal presented by TITTAN to participate in the event was accepted and therefore TITTAN will hold an EUTalk on October 13 at 16:30. At the event entitled “ Empowering patients and improving health”, we want to show that an empowered patient is an individual who cares more about their health, who is more knowledgeable and more aware and as a result not only helps to improve their health but will also helps to improve the system as a whole.

On behalf of TITTAN, our partner BIOEF (Basque Country) will represent the project and demonstrate some of our good practices. The speaker will be Joseba Igor Zabala Rementeria, Head of Integrated Care and Chronicity Service in the Basque Health Service Osakidetza, Basque Public Health Service, Osakidetza, Spain.

The deadline to register is 27 September. It is going to be a great opportunity to share solutions, ideas, inspiration and networking opportunities.  Join us!
