Two TRIS partner from both Spain and Sweden visited the Emilia Romagna region, during a peer exchange visit to understand two important topics in the region that play an important role in Industrial Symbiosis in the region. Emilia Romagna presented two major region initiative
1) waste management and
2) innovation in terms of policy (starting from the innovation policy in Emilia Romagna)
During the visit the subjects covered were
1) Emilia Romagna waste management policy
2) Herambiente Waste to Energy plant and separation plant in Granarolo, as an example of a business approach to waste management and reuse
3) ASTER and Emilia Romagna regional innovation policy
4) Examples of ongoing innovation initiatives in the region
