WHO SHOULD COME: Companies, public sector bodies, practitioners and others with experience of industrial symbiosis; those wishing to contribute to, and benefit from, shaping a European CEN pre-standard. This event is an opportunity for you to contribute your experience to shape the pre-standard going forward: does your organisation have experience with industrial symbiosis? What’s worked best, what’s not worked at all? What barriers could a pre-standard address? At the launch, you will have the opportunity to register for continued participation in the CEN process.
WHEN & WHERE: in Brussels to align with EU industry days, 21 February 2018, 13.00-17.00
Address: International Synergies Limited Brussels, Avenue d’Auderghem, 22 – 28, Floor 6, B-1040 Brussels.
WHY CONTRIBUTE? As industrial symbiosis finds its way into the policies, reports and recommendations of the European Commission across multiple DGs and various member states at the national, regional and local scale, the variety of terminologies and methodologies used in these documents can be confusing and sometimes misleading. Such confusion dilutes the power of the approach to deliver greater resource efficiency, greenhouse gas reduction and economic benefits.
The ambition of this Workshop (and the CWA that it will produce) is to support the effective adoption of industrial symbiosis by the public and private sector, and to advance toward mainstream use.
WHO IS ORGANIZING: This CEN Workshop is hosted by the Slovenian Institute for Standardisation (SIST), and supported by the Horizon 2020-SPIRE projects SHAREBOX and EPOS, and the Interreg Europe projects TRIS and SYMBI.
