This two-day workshop was organised by one of our most important IS Local Lab members, Hungarian Association of Environmental Enterprises (HAEE). HAEE members are companies providing environmental services, R&D institutes, manufacturers & distributors, recyclers actively searching for the most up-to-date solutions for the national and international environmental issues, like: water supply & treatment, waste treatment & recovery, air pollution control, soil remediation, noise & vibration reduction.

The program contains a site visit illustrating a good practice: synergy of production and waste treatment: and the demonstration of biogas technology from the Kaposvar sugar factory.

Followed by the State Secretary for Environmental Affairs, Dr. András Rácz, presenting the Prospects and Plans concerning the Hungarian Environmental Sector. Circular economy will be the central topic of the discussion, the Q&A session will also provide a great opportunity to talk about industrial symbiosis.

During the afternoon session of the first day, World Café will discuss the future of the Green industry, representing IFKA and the TRIS project. This will be useful as all the participants are our stakeholders: companies, decision makers and recyclers. The second day will comprise of company presentations, meetings with entrepreneurs and authorities of the region involved in environmental protection and waste management issues.

In summary the added value will be:

1. Networking with policy makers and key stakeholders and reaching out to a target group .

2. A great opportunity to discuss plans regarding the TRIS Hungarian action plan and identify possible suggested pilot actions .

What will be the exact role of the partner?

IFKA will actively participate in the workshops and world café sessions. Amongst the challenges of the green industry, we will highlight the importance of industrial symbiosis and circular economy business models. The feedback and observations from other participants will be used to further enhance the TRIS project.
