„Good practice and challenges “
These topics were discussed and gained input form the transnational exchange of experiences:
- Reuse and alternative use of closed industrial areas
- Change of functions
- Regulatory framework chances and obstacles/ opportunities and risks
- Transitional zones: industrial parks, business parks, agriculture
- Urban landscapes and new urban green
Presentations by local experts, site visits, introductory papers and the joint discussions allowed a good analysis of these two good practice examples
- Open cast mining Garzweiler
- Emscher Landscape Park
and to intensify the discussion about transfer of practicies into other regions and into other challenges of designing and implementing enhanced urban links to landscapes.
