Mrs. Andrea Kurucz, the project manager of Pannon Business Network shared its impressions received during the Pitesti meeting held in October 2017.

“Pitesti in Arges County gave place to our 4th interregional meeting in UpGradeSME project.

On behalf of Arges County Council Mr. Constantin Dan MANU welcomed all participants on the 4th transnational meeting and presented the economic characteristics of Arges County. Also the representatives of the South Muntenia Regional Development Agency welcomed us at the event and presented the plans of the two days.

After the topics of the technical and financial management we changed to the deep analysis of the involved policy instruments on SME internationalization. The coordinators of the analysis topics POLICY METHODOLOGY, IMPACT and COMMUNICATION presented us the main activities and results achieved so far. Later on the responsible partner of the policy INTEGRATION coordinated the interactive session to invite the participants for brainstorming.

Under the coordination of the Steinbeis Europa Zentrum Ms. Isabel Trömel presented us the results of the final METHODOLOGY document for the partners. The main challenges identified and conclusions made.

During the 3rd period Ms Erna van der Werff from Business Development Friesland elaborated with the contribution of the partners the policy IMPACT summary report, imbedded the results of the IMPACT questionnaires and now shared the results with us partners during the meeting.

After the 3rd transnational meeting where we took part on a work shop for designing the optimal policy communication methodologies the real desk research followed. By using the policy COMMUNICATION questionnaire designed by Mr. Fernando Mendez-Naiva representing ADRAVE the partners in collaboration with the Managing Authorities answered the questions about internal and external policy communication practices. On base of these finding Mr. Mendez-Naiva prepared feedback documents to clear the open questions. During the current event we could learn about these findings.

As the closure of the 1st day Mrs. Gilda Niculescu representing the host SMRDA coordinated the policy INTEGRATION work shop with the active involvement of the partners. To provide the content related background for the discussion as a first step the methodology and the draft INTEGRATION questionnaire has been presented by Mrs. Gilda Niculescu. In this topic we want to investigate the 4 dimensions of the policy integration: policy frame, subsystem involvement, policy goals and policy instruments.

The next day we started with the peer review of the Romanian policy instrument for SME internationalization in the presentation of Mrs. Madalina Istrate and Stefan Oachesu representatives of the MAROP, the Romanian Managing Authority.

Several Stakeholder group members and exporting companies from Arges County participated during the event as well.

After the morning session we got into the bus and travelled together with Local Stakeholders to the study visit destinations. We visited the GIC Industrial Group of Components where the representative of the company presented the main activities, products and internationalization experiences of the company.

As the next station of the study tour we travelled to the company MGC Topoloveni. The production processes, the products and the export experiences were presented by the representative of the company. “
