As part of the activities to be carried out within the VIOLET project, four Interregional Exchange Meetings/Workshops between partners will be held both virtually and in person.
On this occasion the venue is Seville, and the event, will be held on the 1st and 2nd of June.
During the first day, the intervention of members of the Community of Practice and Stakeholders of Andalusia has been planned in order to show case studies and Good Practices to the partnership in the field of renovation of historical heritage with energy efficiency criteria.
The event is divided into three blocks: RESEARCH, PROJECTS and VISITS.
During the Research Section there will be two interventions (10-minute each) by researchers from the University. Relevant topics and articles on the project's subject will be exposed, such as, energy upgrade in traditional dwellings in the historic centre of Seville and indoor air quality in COVID times.
The Project Section is divided in two: Strategic and Built Projects. During the first of them, the Master Plan for the Historical Heritage of Seville will be exposed, and after the presentations there will be a time for discussion and questions.
During the Built Projects Section, three real historic buildings renovation projects will be explained. In all of them, energy efficiency, indoor climate conditions, and environmental control measures have been considered.
Those projects are:
• Renovation of the Sta Ana Church in CArmona- Architect: Carrascal y Fernández de la Puente
• Renovation of a private Casa Palacio in historic centre of Sevilla- Architect: Ricardo Alario
• Renovation of Ayuntamiento de Monachil- Architect Francisco Reina
This section is planned as a panel of experts involved in different phases of the three projects being explained (Design and Renovation, Energy Efficiency and System and Public Administration). At the end there will be 30 minutes for discussion and questions.
After lunch there is one of the two visits planned, the first to Hotel Mercer, which is an intervention done by Cruz y Ortiz Architects in a 17th to 18th century building to turn into a 5 star, Grand Luxe Hotel.
The second day the next visit will be the Crypt and new facilities of the Reales Alcázares, taking place at 9am. This visit will be guided by Francisco Reina, architect of the interventions to be visited.
The rest of the day will be focused on the works done by the partners within the VIOLET additional activities and there are presentation and working sessions programmed.
