The 3rd international VIOLET partner meeting was held earlier this May to provide the partnership as well as stakeholders with regional updates, exchange good practices and conduct study visits to successfully renovated historical & heritage buildings. Hosted by the VIOLET partner the European Institute for Innovation (EIFI) in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany, the international meeting also included roundtable discussions on the VIOLET Communities of Practice (CoPs), tips for Action Plan development and a Steering Committee meeting regarding next steps for VIOLET.

Some highlights of the 3rd international VIOLET partner meeting include the interactive workshop involving the German stakeholders, Professor John Grunewald and Mrs. Heike Sonntag of TU Dresden—during which the experts presented best practices when incorporating energy-efficient technology and methods into heritage and historic buildings in Germany. The two-day partner meeting concluded with a fascinating study visit to a historical yet energy-efficient building as well as a renovated Art Nouveau villa in Schwäbisch Gmünd.
