During November and December the Swedish partner invited specific stakeholders working in tourism and fisheries in the Swedish alpine region to regional meetings.  There was a good attendance from a wide group of actors participating in all four alpine council areas and they received a lot of input about problems within management of the recreational fishery. They had presentations and discussed tourism development within Swedish Lapland, goals of the WLE project, new tools within fisheries management and most importantly new regulations in the regional fishery and how they can manage fishing sustainably but still allow for maximum participation in nature of citizens. This was a new and unique approach in the area allowing for much greater stakeholder participation in the management of the fisheries resource and opens for a greater “bottom up” style for managing our fisheries in the future.

This film that was shown and appreciated by the participants.
