The partner meeting was hosted by the Alava Provincial Council and took place in the Palacio Europa Congress Hall in Vitoria-Gasteiz.
The first day the meeting was opened by Josean Galera (Alava congress Representative for Environment and Urbanism), Raymond Tilmans (project coordinator, PRV Limburg) and Elena Gómez Chico (Head of Environmental Sustainability Service, DF Alava). Presentations were held by Janine Calders and João Salgueiro, Rewilding Europe concerning nature and economy and the needs, expectations and possible sites of the study visits.
In the afternoon the stakeholders visited the Ullibarri‐Gamboa reservoir (Nature Network 2000). During the steering meeting, partners informed each other about the progress of the project. Moreover, various presentations were given on different topics (new projects & influence, monitoring plan: indicators, regional action plan: minimum set-up and criteria and the communication plan).
The second day a lot of interesting field visits in the Montaña Alavesa region were planned.:
- Mining landscapes of Montaña Alavesa region (Lucia Mine in Atauri)
- Basque - Navarre Railway Greenway, bike ride to the Interpretation Centre for the Basque Navarre Railway Greenway in Antoñana.
- Visitor Centre Izki Natural Park in the village of Korres.
