ZEROCO2 project partner Thermopolis Ltd. is invited to discuss the Good Practice – Sustainable Municipalities – in the frame of a peer review that is organised in the frame of INTERREG EUROPE on the topic of multi-municipality SECAPS, and hosted by The Ministry of the German-speaking community of Belgium.

This two-day event will take place on the 8th and 9th of May in Eupen (East Belgium), where four peers from different European regions will come together to discuss governance aspects of strategic energy and climate action plans (SECAPS) and the challenges of energy and climate strategies that involve a group of municipalities.

Thermopolis is coordinating the Sustainable Municipalities Project, which is a collaboration project of five municipalities in South Ostrobothnia region. To ensure that everyone is promoting sustainability and energy efficiency, each municipality set up energy efficiency teams. These teams meet regularly to plan and implement energy efficiency actions. The municipalities have also co-operated to share training materials, run joint campaigns in schools, and arranged visits to inspiring regions and companies in Finland.

During the two-day event, Thermopolis will further analyse the faced challenges and meet with key stakeholders. Attendance will allow Thermopolis to be a member of the prestigious group of peers, help fellow regional policy makers do better and exchange valuable experiences of multi-municipality SECAPS.
