The final regional ZEROCO2 event in Slovenia will be held on 20th of September in the Municipality of Destrnik in order to bring together different types of stakeholders to achieved wider recognition of ZEROCO2 project and its main outputs. Expected participants include representatives from municipalities, local energy agencies and technology providers.

The event will be used to present in first place to present the SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) analysis developed in first half of the project on ventilation solutions during the Covid-19 pandemic. The main weaknesses in current legislation will be brought forward as well as the identified most relevant strengths and possible improvements. On the other hand, the good practices identified in other ZEROCO2 regions will be presented in detail to ensure a transnational approach of sharing project results and ensuring last impact. The possible transfer of the identified good practices to Slovenia – specifically, to the Podravje region – will be discussed at the regional event as well.

The last part of the event will be used to present the good practice identified within the Municipality of Destrnik in which the energy efficiency measures are implemented as well the use of renewable sources together with battery storage (Kindergarten Destrnik).

The regional stakeholder event will be held in conjunction with the Interreg Danube Transnational Programme STRIDE Project, which aims to enable and accelerate the integration of smart grid concepts into regional and local policies through the development of an open-source smart grids platform. The information and networking event with bring together likeminded stakeholders in the energy/technology sectors as well as local/regional government to further build capacity of both the STRIDE and ZEROCO2 projects – ultimately joining forces to address the common goal of a decarbonised, net-zero Europe by 2050.
