Decisions regarding the conference:

Stakeholder discussion

The parallel round table for stakeholder was moderated by Chris Ashe from EIfI.

Project Background

Chris Ashe provides a short background information about the ZEROCO2 project.

The »eternal« question is being raised – What is ZEROCO2?

Do Stakeholders know if there is a regulation regarding the CO2 emissions that has to be followed in their country or region?  What is the opinion of the stakeholders about where zero emissions will be in 5 or 10 years and what is their point of view about zero emission buildings?

• ZEROCO2 will be easier to reach for new buildings as for old buildings

• ZEROCO2 is an “ideal target” and the question is in what extend it is possible to reach

Action plans. What is the opinion of stakeholders regarding the Action plans prepared and presented by each project partner?

• Reaching targets is not always the question of innovation or technics. Example: French offshore wind power production. They have lower the price of electricity for 60 % just due to improving the logistics and asset management.

• None of the presented action plan had long term actions. We need also long term plans for the period 20 – 30 years.

• We need precisely explore the founding possibilities. The EU has over 120 funding programmes that are financing energy efficiency.

What advice they (stakeholders) can give to the ZEROCO2 partnership for the implementation phase for the next 2 years.

• Practical advice: consider first to lower the use of energy.

• Do the homework right – there is always a “competition “ with other policy proposers, and the action plans have to be excellent prepared.

• Demonstration projects – to show the policy maker the practical advantages of ZEROCO2
