The first site visit during the ZeroCo2 5th Partner Meeting, in Lapua, Finland was to the Lapuan Energia, the district heating company of Lapua.

District heating is used in almost all of the buildings in the centre of the Lapua. The district heating network is 70 km long. We visited the CHP (Combined Heat and Power) plant which is the main source of heat for the district heating network. The plant uses a mixture of peat and wood chip as fuel.
