Today an interesting article about our BETTER Interreg Europe project was published on the italian newspaper "Il Sole 24 ore", you can find an abstract here:

THE THIRD THEMATIC EVENT, ONLINE - Following the stop to travel due to the pandemic, the third thematic event took place completely online in May. The event was divided into three workshops, on three different topics and which have taken place on three different days. The First Workshop, organized entirely by the Municipality of Genoa, made it possible to report the good practices that aroused the most interest from the partners. The main theme was: "Building partnership for data collection: providing the evidence to stimulate effective working across public and private sector" with the related sub-topics:

• Bringing data together at a city level

• Devising a data protocol to ensure consistency

• Building an open data culture

• How to avoid friction between public and private sector objectives.

THE BEST PRACTICES THAT Better exported in EUROPE:

- THE "SMART" BRIDGE: One of the examples brought by the Municipality of Genoa to Europe through this event was the fruitful collaboration with two other local companies: Cetena S.p.A. and SEASTEMA S.p.A., companies of the Fincantieri group, as far as the technology that revolves around the new Genoa Bridge is concerned. In fact, these two companies have developed innovative structural monitoring, supervision and control systems, including robotic automation systems for the construction of a new and "smart" technological bridge. The integrated system will be able to control and monitor the structure of the bridge, collect data for understanding evolution of the infrastructure over time and inspect the deck. The high-tech structure of the New Bridge will ensure constant monitoring and collect data and information useful for its maintenance, reliability and sustainability in years to come.

- OPEN DATA, COVID- 19 & PPP: Another good practice was born during the lockdown, when another collaboration between public and private, assisted by Liguria Digitale, led to the use of telephone cell data for monitoring of citizens' movements, facilitating decisions by the authorities that have helped to significantly limit the spread of the epidemic and to verify the effectiveness of the containment measures (see PPT attached for further details). It was therefore possible to present this good practice also by making a comparison, thanks to the collaboration with Filippo Costa, ICT advisor of Costa Edutainment spa, with the use that the private sector can make of a similar technology. It is indeed this company, which manages among other Aquariums of Genoa, Aquafan and Aquarium of Cattolica, which for years has been using the analysis of cell phone data for tourism purposes and for the improvement of its services through, for example, the profiling of tourists, the duration of the visit, the area of origin and the mode of.

- THE CITIZEN'S FILE: Among the examples of development and application of new innovative products and services, the Municipality of Genoa could not fail to mention the new Citizen's File, developed also thanks to the collaboration with Liguria Digitale, in house company of the same Municipality and another key stakeholder of this project. This new innovative platform will allow citizens residing in the Genoese territory to see their personal and family status, access to the voting card data and the cadastral data of their residence. And then manage enrollments at school, the canteen, get information on mobility in the city, check the RCA coverage.

Within a year, you also count on being able to see your tax framework, deadlines and payment status, request permits for access to ZTL areas, obtain the issue and renewal of season tickets for parking in reserved areas, manage public transport passes. And then it will be possible to request a change of residence, obtain a duplicate of the electoral card, but also open your own medical file.

All this by simply logging in via Digital identity credentials.
