Members of the Department of Environment of the Government of Navarra have been recently invited to visit the facilities of CENER (National Center for Renewable Energies), in Aoiz, within the framework of LCA4Regions project.

Javier Gil, Department of Biomass of CENER director, showed us the Biorefinery and Bioenergy Center (BIO2C), a semi-industrial pilot scale test facility, capable of developing bioproduct production processes, active biofuels, liquid and gaseous biofuels advanced. BIO2C integrates different recovery routes, as an intermediate stage between the laboratory and the industrial scaling of these technologies.

During the visit we spoke about the achievements, challenges and difficulties that arise in the development of these recovery routes, as well as the life cycle approach applied in some particular cases.
