The Intensify Project was showcased at the Eirgrid Citizen Roadshow held in Ballyphehane in Cork City on November 10th. The Regional Action Plan for the Southern Region developed during the Intensify Project identified two pilot actions which focused on community engagement to change behaviours and reduce our carbon emissions. The Home Energy Upgrade Office located on Grand Parade in the city offers the public a physical outlet for information on energy retrofitting, grants available and some technical information on home upgrades. The Regional Action Plan also led to the development of an online portal offering the public advice on energy upgrades, energy communities and technical advice. The Eirgrid Citizen Roadshows are developed to inform the public about future-proofing the national grid through public engagement.
