A local stakeholder group met on January 29, 2020 at the Marshal's Office of the Lubelskie Voivodeship in Lublin. They were the representatives of business environment institutions, sector agencies, universities and research institutes, energy clusters and others.
The AgroRES project was generally presented at the beginning of the meeting. All Project Partners and Project’s assumptions, main goals, schedule of activities and expected results were presented there. Then, completed tasks were discussed, i.e. the First Meeting of PP’s combined with study visits in the Extremadura region. The first visit took place at the floating photovoltaic installation generating electricity, supplying pumps for the irrigation system of crops, and the second at the research center, where the optimal possibilities of using locally occurring types of biomass as RES were assessed. Both examples were very interesting for listeners who confirmed the need and possibilities of their application in lubelskie region. Finally, plans for the upcoming activities in the project and an invitation to active participation of the gathered as well as proposals of other interested entities were presented. The last part of the meeting included discussion, questions and proposals for inviting additional stakeholders as well as further examples of Good Practices of renewable energy use practices in the region.
Based on the involvement of the gathered people and their opinions in the discussion, it can be stated that the Lubelskie Voivodship has very high potential both in energy production and the use of renewable energy sources in agriculture. The region's participation in this project and cooperation with PP’s will allow the selection of optimal methods and technologies and the preparation of Action Plan for use RES in agriculture.
