On May 26 in Argençola (Barcelona), 25 people attended the working group meeting of the project Interreg BIO4ECO Europe.

During the meeting they shared impressions about the study visit that took place in March in Abruzzo. They also further their knowledge of Boscos del Vallès and Vinyes per calor projects vineyards4heat.eu/ca/, the latter focused on the use of agricultural biomass. Projects of biomass facilities that will be launched soon by each of the provincial councils were also presented.

During the open debate to achieve the objectives set by the Strategy to promote the energy use of forest and agricultural biomass, it was proposed to capitalize on technological knowledge available; to take note of those rules which may be a bottleneck; to coordinate industry players that provide support and advice, in order to show gaps in the region.

Also, it emerged a request for positive discrimination for those small realities that despite their interest, do not have sufficient capacity to carry out installations of biomass complying with the criteria of the competitive competition.

Finally, they discussed about how to undertake the challenge of adapting forest planning dynamism and contingencies associated with a dynamic market such as biomass.
