Local Stakeholders Group meeting took place on February 27. Forest sector topicalities in 2017 and success and less successful event in forestry discussed in the meeting. Stakeholders participated in brain storming about future vision, strategic development of forest sector to outline perspectives for sector in national bioeconomy. The progress of agriculture and rural development policy after 2020 and support measures for the promotion of private forest management also be topic of the meeting. As main perspective climate change mitigation activities were recognized. Participants were introduced with lessons learned from BIO4ECO project activities in that context and discussed activities to increase effective land use in Latvia.
