Within the 6th Semester of the BIO4ECO project implementation, RDA Centru in collaboration with the Commission's science and knowledge service - Joint Research Centre (JRC) organised a three day training course on project development and H2020 project writing. The meeting took place in Tîrgu Mures, Centru Region Romania and gathered more than 30 representatives of the local stakeholder group – universities, research institutes, clusters, NGOs, public authorities from Centru Region, Romania.
Organised as part of the Support to Lagging Regions project managed by JRC, this event set the scene for further debate the priorities identified within the Regional Smart Specialisation Strategy of Centru Region and the existing EU funding programmes with special focus on EU R&I funding programmes (H2020/Horizon Europe) and possibilities of increasing regional participation in these programmes.
The objective of this event was to support the regional innovators to better identify their concrete needs and to maximise the chances of success for their project proposals concentrated on four key priorities: innovation and research, the digital agenda, support for small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) and the low-carbon economy.
This training course included:
- A pre-training survey designed to tailor the course according to individual requirements of the participants;
- Preparatory e-learning on key initial elements on the subject to best prepare them for the course and initiate a cognitive learning process.
- Post-course support on potential questions relevant for the content of the course delivered and post-training help in assimilation of the knowledge gained.
- Project review and advice for the projects proposed by the participants.
Based on the transnational cooperation and the good practices presented within the 1st phase of BIO4ECO project, during this event the project LSG members presented a series of projects aimed to support the development of low carb economy in Centru Region (e.g. a project focused on ensuring energy autonomy of an education building, an idea based on the Finnish experience - a good practice presented by the Finnish project partners during the transnational meeting in Joensuu; other project focused on the development of biomass centres in Centru Region, an idea based on the practices presented by the French and Spanish project partners etc.).
This event represented a great opportunity for the participants to discuss their project proposals, to find out more about the existing EU financial instruments and the R&I support schemes available, advice on how to access the EU programmes, including early information regarding future calls for proposals, and feedback, assistance and coaching for their project proposals.
