The first study visit of the BioGov project took place from 14th to 16th May 2019. The Lodzkie Region hosted partners from Romania and Belgium, who together with regional stakeholders, such as the Landscape Parks of the Lodzkie Region, the University of Lodz, the City of Lodz Office (team of Green EXPO 2024) or the Spatial Planning Office, jointly discussed the possibilities of preserving biodiversity with focus on traditional orchards.
Moreover, thanks to the courtesy of e.g. the Botanical Garden in Lodz, the company "Windy Orchard", Mr. Arkadiusz Kartus the owner of an ecological orchard farm or the Museum in Arkadia and Nieborów, it was possible to get to know the specifics of the region of Lodz in depth. As a result, the project partners provided us with extremely valuable comments and insights that will measurably contribute to the achievement of the project objectives, i.e. the development of the Action Plan and the diagnosis of good practices.
