Today, 3 October 2017, Today, 3 October 2017, City of Lahti Development Overview Seminar (Lahden kasvumallin seurantaseminaari) was organised by Lahti University of Applied Sciences in their premises in Lahti, Finland.

Guests from different institutions, such as universities and representatives of the City of Lahti, various project managers and stakeholders were invited. Altogether, around 50 people participated at the event. The seminar aimed at informing the audience about the development in three thematic areas: Entrepreneurial Ecosystem, Circular Economy and Design. 

During the circular economy session, Sanna Kivelä, the President of the Grain Cluster, presented the Cooperation Model of the Päijät-Häme Grain Cluster, one of the bio-based circular economy Good Practices identified in the BIOREGIO project.

The Päijät-Häme Grain cluster is an exceptional cooperation network of the local grain value chain, which brings together all actors in the region, from grain producers to industry and retail, both large international to small craft companies. 

Later, Saara Vauramo, ‎Environmental Director at the City of Lahti, emphasized the importance of cooperation between companies, organisations and universities in order to boost the development of the circular economy in our city and region.

The end of the event was dedicated to discussions. As a conclusion, it was agreed that a number of projects from various fields surely contribute to the overall growth and development of the City of Lahti.
