On December 15th, 2017, the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce organized the 6th agrotechnology conference on "Climate Change: Challenges and adaptation". BIOREGIO took this opportunity to disseminate the project to the public in the Central Macedonia Region, Greece.

Mr Vassilis Kokalis Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food performed the conference introduction speech and emphasized on the conservation of the Hellenic resources (source: VORIA.GR).

The conference was dedicated to the agrotechnology and the circular economy potentials to present the agri-food sector with business and employment opportunities.

The conference had more than 200 participants coming from various sectors such as environmental scientists, industry stakeholders, representatives of the primal and secondary sector, farming associations, local and central government authorities. 


Prof Nicolas Moussiopoulos head of the Laboratory of Heat Transfer and Environmental Engineering, AUT presents the scope of the BIOREGIO project


The interest in BIOREGIO purposes was high; Prof Nicolas Moussiopoulos head of the Laboratory of Heat Transfer and Environmental Engineering, AUT (who in collaboration with the Regional Development Fund of Central Macedonia on behalf of Central Macedonia run the BIOREGIO project in Greece) presented the scope of the project, the aspects of bioeconomy as well as the opportunities and challenges of the circular economy model. All of the participants were very interested in BIOREGIO project and the expected outcomes towards a circular economy. The event caught the attention of press and media.
