BIOREGIO project, its aims and activities were introduced at the workshop “Enabling eco-innovations under EU environmental legislation" organized within the "Make it Work in Central and Eastern Europe (MiW-CEE)" project.

The event held on 11 and 12 June 2018 at the Regional Environmental Center headquarter in Szentendre, Hungary, and focused on the Waste Framework Directive and its interface with REACH.

The project MiW-CEE targets Hungary, Romania and Slovakia and aims to make it simpler for the member states to implement EU environmental legislation.


Workshop topics:

  • Eco-innovations for the circular economy – a guidance for regulators applying EU environmental legislation
  • Achieving circular economy and addressing challenges in waste management and REACH in Hungary, Slovakia and Romania
  • Challenges and best practices to develop eco-innovative strategies
  • Waste prevention
  • Regulatory barriers to eco-innovations at EU-level

 

More than 45 participants from the governmental, non-profit and business sectors had the opportunity to present good practices and to participate in panels and working groups providing dynamic and effective brainstorming activities.
