On 16 May 2019, BIOREGIO participated at the CIRCULAR ECONOMY SCALING for IMPROVING WASTE MANAGEMENT event organized by the Institute for Research in Circular Economy and Environment “Ernest Lupan”– IRCEM, an independent non-governmental association from Cluj-Napoca, Romania. 

The event was held at “City Hall of Buzau”, Buzau County, Romania, and is a part of a series of eight sector consultations in eight regions of Romania within the project Romania’s Strategy for the Transition to a Circular Economy (ROCES) 2020-2030. The result of these meetings and workshops, concluding with the European conference, will be a roadmap for developing the STRATEGY for CIRCULAR ECONOMY in ROMANIA.

The purpose of the conference was to provide opportunities for knowledge and understanding of Romania recycling market and to connect high-level decision-makers to in-depth discussions, debates and perspectives strategies and solutions available for the material recycling industry.  

It was another opportunity to present the BIOREGIO project (presentation in plenary), especially to disseminate BIOREGIO good practices and technologies for valorisation of biowaste.

About 65 participants represented local and governmental authorities, SMEs, industry representatives as well as experts research specialists.
