West-Pannon Regional and Economic Development Non-profit Ltd. has been founded as a daughter company of the state-owned West-Pannon Development Holding Zrt. The mission of the organization is to support the initiation and implementation of cooperation-based regional and economic development processes in the West-Transdanubian Region. This includes both the development of clusters and the strengthening of local competences in municipalities and communities.
The company approaches cluster development as a strategic path to cooperative competitiveness, and works closely with both cluster organisations and the Ministry of National Economics in this field. In the course of the first Clusterix project West-Pannon founded IKOSZ, the Hungarian National Alliance of Innovative Clusters together with the most active cluster organisations, and has been involved in its excellence, internationalisation and development effort ever since.
