The Regional Development Agency of the Pardubice Region participated in the conference Cities of the Future 2019 in Prague on the 30th of September 2019.
The conference dealt with the challenges and solutions to the current needs of cities and municipalities. It focused primarily on innovative topics such as new technologies, but also the basic needs of towns and municipalities.
The amendment is being prepared in cooperation with European Union directives and regulations, the Ministry of the Environment and other ministries and brings changes in the area of permitting and operation of waste management facilities, waste collection, addressing illegal landfills and waste trading. The law will extend the landfill period from 2024 to 2030. The amendment has not yet been finalized and is still under revision. It should come into force in 2021.
