In Bełchatów, in the Lodzkie Region, a school for the professions of the future is being established, where specialists in renewable energy sources, as well as automation, IT, electro- and biotechnology will be educated.- The best specialists in modern sectors will come from here - plans the Marshal of Lodzkie Region, Grzegorz Schreiber, who together with the President of the Polish Energy Group (PGE) signed a letter of intent to establish a new school in the region.
The Competence Development Centre is a joint effort of the local government of the Lodzkie Region and PGE, inspired by the need for energy transformation. The school will enable the employees of the power generation complex in Bełchatów to acquire new qualifications. The students will acquire managerial competencies, including building commitment and motivating a team. There will also be classes in technical English. The catalogue of available courses will take into account the needs of PGE Group employees and the local labour market.
- I encourage you to look into the future so that we can see the Bełchatów region as a modern region with schools and universities. The region of modern technologies, which prepares the best specialists in modern industries. Not only for the Lodzkie Region but for entire Poland - said Marshal Grzegorz Schreiber before signing the letter of intent. - These are the plans that we are beginning to implement today.
The first students will start learning at the Centre from September. Participation in training courses will be free of charge for PGE Group employees. As announced by the President of the Management Board of PGE Wojciech Dąbrowski, the lecturers will be employees of the PGE Group who possess unique competencies in the field of power engineering.
