On September 28, 2020, the Stara Zagora Regional Economic Development Agency SZ REDA (DeCarb project) in cooperation with the Black Sea Center for Energy Research (TRACER project, funded by Horizon 2020) and David Holding Inc. (GreenDC project, funded by Horizon 2020) organized a "NEW ENERGY MIX" - PUBLIC DIALOGUE FOR THE TRANSITION TO A LOW-CARBON ECONOMY IN STARA ZAGORA.
The event was divided into 4 panels, each dedicated to a different topic related to the transition to a low-carbon economy.
1. Economic alternatives after phasing out coal-intensive activities in partner regions
2. Expected socioeconomic impact from phasing out coal driven activities
3. Environmental restitution and land restoration needs and possible post mining land uses
4. "New energy mix"
Among the panelists we had the pleasure to welcome in Stara Zagora European and national experts, representatives of national and international organizations, science and business.
In order to reach a wider audience, the event was broadcasted on the Facebook page of SZ REDA - Green Deal. Discussion recordings are available for viewing and sharing. The live stream reached almost 18 000 people.
For foreign partners and experts who were also interested in following the panel discussions online, SZ REDA provided English translation and broadcasting through the Google Meet platform.
