The Region of Central Macedonia (RCM) and the Regional Development Fund of Central Macedonia (RDF CM) participated on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, to the study visit organized by the Transport Systems Research Group of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, partner of the PE4Trans INTERREG EUROPE project.

During the study visit, RDF CM presented the online student contest on sustainable mobility held in RCM in the framework of the e-smartec project, which attracted the interest of the PE4Trans project partners.

The online student contest entitled "Let’s go to school! Environmentally friendly transportation to school!" was organized by RCM with the support of RDF CM from October to December 2020. The aim of the contest was to raise awareness on students’ way of transportation to and from school, and on adopting the principles of sustainable urban mobility.

Ms. Anna Pouliou, on behalf of the Regional Development Fund of Central Macedonia, presented the implementation process of the student contest emphasizing the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and how they were addressed. Extensive reference was made to the results and lessons learned from this contest, which will inspire and facilitate participants to transfer similar practices to their areas.
