On 27 October (14:00 to 15:30 CET), the Interreg Europe Policy Learning Platform will hold a webinar on Developing integrated low-carbon strategies.

Regional strategies are essential for the transition to a low-carbon and sustainable economy, taking account of the current status of the region, its desired destination and goals, available resources, barriers and challenges, and the role of public authorities and stakeholders. However, many regions struggle with the interplay between strategies and the need for collaboration between multiple horizontal departments and vertical levels of governance.

This webinar will explore how harmonisation of strategies and plans can bring common benefits, including the creation of a single vision, more efficient use of resources, development of common indicators and monitoring activities, and management of joint communication and engagement activities. It will present the integration of SUMPs and SECAPs, the integration of sustainable energy into land-use planning and the development of an ambitious regional green and circular economy strategy, amongst other topics.
