The Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association organized from 24-25 September 2019 the eighth cross-border culture experts meeting within the framework of the EPICAH – Effectiveness of Policy Instruments for Cross – Border Advancement in Heritage project. Also during this period was held the ninth meeting of the Project Steering Committee consisting of the project managers from each partner. At these meetings were discussed and clarified issues related to the project management and its main activities. Were presented details of the interparliamentary forum to be held in November in Brussels, where have to be disseminated project results, making proposals to the European Commission on improving the Common European tourism and cross-border heritage policies.
During the meeting of the experts, the group have analyzed the drafts for action plans of project partners, making recommendations for their improvement. During the press conference held by Xoan Vazquez Mao, the president of the lead-partner, Pataki Csaba, the president of the host partner in Satu Mare, respectively Nicoleta Laşan, the executive manager of the Association, presented the objectives of the project, the results of its activity from the implementation period as well the purpose of the interparliamentary forum organized within the project in Brussels.
In the afternoon of September 24, within the thematic seminar were presented the Romanian-Hungarian successfully implemented projects in the field of cultural, natural heritage and tourism, respectively the results of the cross-border programs Hungary-Romania and Interreg V A Romania-Hungary. The seminar was followed by a study visit to Medieşu-Aurit, where two successful projects were presented.
On September 25, took place the study visit at Károlyi Castle in Carei, where were presented three successfully implemented projects. The visit continued at the church and the pilgrimage site in Máriapócs, which is part of the “Route of medieval churches”, created and financed through cross-border cooperation programs. During the same successful project, in the afternoon were visited the medieval churches from Acâş and Beltiug.
The meeting was attended by specialists in the field of cross-border culture as well as project managers representing all 9 partners: Eixo Atlántico do Noroeste Peninsular from Braga -Portugal having the role of lead partner, Eixo Atlantico del Noroeste Peninsular-Vigo and Asociación Ibérica de Municipios Ribereños del Duero from Spain, Agenzia per lo Sviluppo Empolese Valdelsa Spa from Empoli-Italy, Tokaj Borvidék Fejlődéséért Nonprofit Kft.-Hungary, Regional Development Fund / Region of Western Macedonia from Kozani-Greece, Peipsi Koostöö Keskus from Tartu-Estonia, Regionální rozvojová agentura Plzeňského kraje, o. p. s. from Plzeň-Czech Republic, Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association.
