This intense workshop followed the methodology prepared by our Polish lead partner and brought together a small group of stakeholders from business, science and public administration. First target was  to reflect objectives of the regional knowledge and technology transfer scheme and to discuss the target groups for it. Second and main element was to “draw” the empathy map and to identify points of view of participants concerning the needs and expectations of regional SMEs. As a result they identified three groups of needs, one of them concerning the product and service portfolio, another concerning staff requirements and a third one dealing with framework conditions for business development.
A final point was to discuss “how might we” assist our SMEs and how to improve our present support scheme. Actually this discussion confirmed basic findings and recommendations of the previous peer review and ended up proposing different measures to make implement of the outcomes of SME-consultation in knowledge and technology transfer easier, e.g. by providing staff support and a small and flexible scheme to fund investment and innovation activities.
Beyond this, the next regional steering group meeting and the ESSPO meeting in the region in October was elaborated in some more details.
