Speakers Laura Koerselman, Associate at SYSTEMIQ will give a keynote speech on the cutting-edge assessment report ‘Breaking the plastic wave’ proposing pathways to a systemic change on ocean plastic pollution. Eleni Tzagaraki, Head of Heraklion Civil Protection Regional Unit at the Region of Crete and project partner of CAPONLITTER, will speak about the challenges of Crete in dealing with marine litter from coastal tourism Isabelle Poitou, Director at MerTerre and project partner at CAPONLITTER will give a presentation on policies and practices to prevent marine litter resulting from coastal tourism and recreational activities. Sofia Savova, Projects and Programmes Expert at Stara Zagora Regional Economic Development Agency (SZ REDA), and project partner at PLASTECO will talk about facilitating the market placement of alternatives to single-use plastics.
